The practice of acupuncture is based around the idea that the body contains channels, or meridians, which control our physical strength and wellbeing. Acupuncturists know this as Qi, and believe that only when the body is in balance can an individual function optimally, have the ability to strengthen, recuperate from injury, alleviate pain and cope with stress.
A manual therapy with a long standing history, Acupuncture has been practiced for over 3000 years. In more recent times, scientific studies have shown that a course of acupuncture triggers the release of naturally occurring endorphins throughout the body, giving the patient a profound sensation of wellbeing as well as enabling the body to effectively heal itself.
Acupuncture is commonly used to deal with specific issues such as:
- Back and Neck pain
- Nerve pain
- Muscle and ligament problems
- Joint pain
